The Consulate General of Angola in Houston has officialy started business in 2001. The inception of this office was the implementation of the Angolan government’s decision to extend its consular representation to other parts of the vast United States of America territory. The Angolan Consulate Office covers nine US States, stretching from Southeastern through Southwestern United States, including Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California. This Consulate increased the number of Angolan Consular offices in the United States to three. Other consular offices include the Consulate General of Angola in New York and the Consular Section of Angola in Washington, DC, working at the same premises as the Angolan Embassy in the United States of America. The Angolan Consulate General joined the large Consular corps and it became the 75th Consular office in Houston, one of the most beautiful cities in the United States. For well over five years now, this Consulate office has strived to serve its varied clientele, consisting mainly of Angolan citizens, studying, working or residing in the states under its jurisdiction, as well as Americans and other nationals interested in traveling to Angola or just learning more about our great Country, its people, and rich history. The services provided to these two groups of people range from issuing Angolans with consular cards, emergency travel documents, passports, birth and marriage certificates, document certification and authentication, and translation, among others, to issuing all types of visas to American citizens and other nationals interested in visiting Angola on business or vacation.
