This Website is the e-voice of the Angolan Consulate General in Houston. Its main purpose is to provide an alternative medium of communication between the Angolan Consular Staff and the wider Angolan community we serve. The Website also reaches out to so many Angolan friends and stakeholders whose interest on Angolan issues and concern for the Angolan people’s wellbeing are legendary and genuine. There is one segment of American society that we try to cater: the thousands of friends willing to learn more about the values we Angolans hold dear, the multicultural landscape of our nation, our history, or even our way of life. Another group of users we serve consists of the millions of Angolans back home willing get a first hand account of the goings-on in the nine US states under this Consulate’s jurisdiction – Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California – where their fellow citizens live, work, or study. In a rapidly changing and globalizing world we live in today, there is no experience as unique as what this Website offers. Therefore, these two categories of users will find in us a very educational and useful source of information. Those who have visited us in the past will find this a new, different and more user-friendly website, from design to topic and visual presentation to easy downloading. We have tried to keep it simple, yet instructive and easy-to-read for you. We have tried not to lose sight of our final purpose: to serve you, the end user, and serve you better. Our staff will welcome your ideas and will be open to constructive criticism.
